Obituary for Joyce Marie Kneller

Joyce Marie Kneller, 69, of Sterling Twp. passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at home surrounded by her family after waging a courageous battle with a long-term illness. She was married to Edward Kneller and they were looking forward to celebrating their 49th year of marriage on September 20.

Born in Blakely, she was the daughter of Helen (Bukowski) Evans of Peckville and the late Joseph Evans. She graduated from Blakely High School in 1966 and began work at the Clarks Summit State Hospital. After marrying Ed in 1969, Joyce dedicated the next part of her life to raising her family and creating a beautiful home, eventually returning to work at the State Workmans Insurance Fund in Scranton. She was a member of The Church of Saint Catherine of Siena in Moscow.

Joyce's life was devoted to her family. She loved traveling through the mountains on both two wheels and four with Ed and her daughters; together they visited all 48 lower states, Alaska and Canada, making great memories along the way. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, spending time with family and would never miss her granddaughter's sporting events.

In addition to her husband: Ed and her mother: Helen, Joyce is survived by her daughters: Laurie Kneller Walter and her husband Jeffrey of Middleburg and Linda Kneller Medaska and her husband Michael of Bethlehem; her sister Gail Lucas and her husband Earl of Peckville; her grandchildren: Julia Marie and Lillianne Grace Medaska and her six nieces and nephews.

As per Joyce's wishes, the The Mass of Christian Burial and Interment with Rite of Committal will be privately held at The Church of Saint Catherine of Siena. Arrangements are entrusted to Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, LLC in Spring Brook Twp. To share your fondest memories of Joyce, please visit the funeral home's website.
