Obituary for Antoinette C. Boruta

Antoinette Boruta, 82, a lifelong resident of Gouldsboro, died Saturday evening, November 3, 2018 at home surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, John, and her beloved son, David.

Born in Gouldsboro, daughter of the late Mary (Lozenski) Stout; she was a member of the ILGW Union for 47 years until her retirement. After her retirement, she was a fixture at the family's business, Boruta's Store in Gouldsboro. She loved talking to the customers, playing the lottery, and 'just being with people' as she called it. Many trips were planned with her customer friends, for when they hit the 'big one'.

Antoinette was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to many. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were her life and her greatest joy. She loved spending time with them. Whether out for lunch and shopping, attending a school event, listening to and dancing the polka, or enjoying a meal at home, she was happy. Antoinette enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, and sitting on her swing. She was a lifelong and active member of St. Rita's Church.

While she was happiest at home with her family and friends, she did enjoy some traveling. Antoinette traveled to the beach in Florida and Walt Disney World. She made a trip with her sisters to Hawaii and also traveled through Europe, including her families homeland of Poland. Antoinette enjoyed going places and seeing new things, but always loved getting back home.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving are three daughters: Karen Boruta-Nitch and her husband Ron, Sharon Lenzer and her husband Bill & Lisa Barrett and her husband Michael; a son: Jeffrey and his wife Lori; a daughter in law: Linda Boruta; nine grandchildren: Brandi Woodward and her husband Trevor; Jason Boruta and his wife Danielle; Susan Nitch; Ashly, Cory and Dana Lenzer; Jonathan, Kylie and Jenna Boruta; four great grandchildren: Adeline and Garrison Woodward; Jonah and Wesley Boruta; five sisters: Genevieve Filingo, Helen Frost, Anne Car and her husband Charles, Katie Domiano, Rose Mills and her husband Jack; one brother: Walter Szymanosky and his wife Kathy and many nieces and nephews.
