Obituary for Jack H. McLain

Jack H. McLain, 85, of Spring Brook Twp and formerly of Scranton, died on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Hershey Medical Center. His beloved companion of 8 years is Carolyn (Beavers) McLain.

Born in Dunmore, he was the son of the late Howard and Ella (Hornbaker) McLain. Jack attended Moscow Schools and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Before retiring, he worked at National Bakery, RC Cola and at the Mink Farm in Gouldsboro. Jack was a lifetime member of the Moscow Sportmen's Club.

He is survived by his sons: Howard McLain and his wife Jane of Gouldsboro, Kenneth McLain and his wife Debra of Scranton and Jack McLain of Delware; his grandchildren: Jimmy, Megan, Tara & Ryan; his 8 great grandchildren; his sisters: Mary Jean Van Brunt of Moscow, Myrtle Hannon of Covingon Twp, Carolyn Farling of South Canaan and Ann Williams of Scranton; his brothers: Paul McLain of Ansonia, CT, Melrose McLain of Madison Twp and Billy McLain of Madsion Twp. His late wife, the former Shirley (Frable), died in 1985 and they were married for 32 years. He was also preceded in death by a brother: Ralph McLain.
