Obituary for William W. Wyckoff

William W. Wyckoff, 73, of Covington Twp died on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton.

Born in Daleville, he was the son of the late Foster and Elizabeth (Alheim) Wyckoff and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. Throughout his life, William worked as a contractor in the Gouldsboro area.

A generous person, William was known to drop what he was doing to help out a neighbor or friend. He enjoyed skiing, playing tennis & growing fruits and vegetables that he most often gave away for others to enjoy. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed casting a line in search of the next big catch or spending time in the woods seeking the next deer. William liked history, especially of Gouldsboro and could be found pointing around town reminiscing about old businesses or friends. He assisted with the ceiling woodwork restoration of the train station and was a member of the Gouldsboro Historical Society.

William is survived by his nieces and nephews Eric Wyckoff, Michelle Wycoff-Kuchak and her husband Tim and Denise Wyckoff. He was preceded in death by his brother: Allen.

The funeral will be held on Friday, January 19 at 6:30 pm at Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, LLC 3 First St in Spring Brook Twp to be conducted by Pastor Eric Luczak. Military honors will be rendered following the service and interment will be private.

Viewing will be from 4:00 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, William's family asks that you do something kind for a neighbor or friend.
