Obituary for Robert T. Storm

Robert T. Storm Jr. known to most as Bob, died April 14, 2018 in his home surrounded by his family and his wife of 23 years, Alma (Hay) Storm, who lovingly cared for him throughout his illness.

Born in Daleville, he was the son of the late Robert and Margaret (Wardell) Storm. He was a 1957 graduate of Scranton Tech High School where he often participated in school musicals. Bob honorably served in the U.S. Army Reserves. During his younger years, Bob worked on his father’s farm, then in various warehouses including Giant, Millet and Lyons, Weis and eventually retiring from Schiff's.

Active in his church and community, Bob was a Lay Leader in the United Methodist Church and spoke in many churches in our area. For several years, he was the chaplain for the Scranton Wilkes Barre Red Barons but his heart was always in his home church, The Daleville United Methodist Church. Bob served as the church's janitor and could always be found helping out at church events. Often times you would see him and his wife Alma cleaning the roadside for the church’s Adopt a Highway program. As a true North Pocono Fan, he attended as many events as possible, offering his support to all participants. He loved playing pinochle with his family and friends and together with Alma, he enjoyed traveling with their pinochle club. Bob also enjoyed collecting foreign coins.

He loved his children, step-children and grand children, supporting them in all their sports and activities. He was very proud of all of their accomplishments.

Bob was married to the late Nelda (Sherman) Storm for 30 years and they had two daughters: Susan Storm and spouse: Pat Pomeroy and Lori Cawley and spouse David. He had three siblings: Shirley DeSandis, Joan Wolf and the late Richard Storm. Bob married Alma and became a stepfather to Alma’s children: Michelle Carr, Ronnie Legg, Jr., John Legg and his fiance' Meredith Albanese and Leonard VanOrden and his companion Charlene Modlesky. He also was a grandfather to Alma’s grandchildren: Brandon, Autumn and Dylan Legg, Kaelyn Dale, Calvin Craig, Jordan and Morgan Carr, Lucas VanOrden. Additionally he had many nieces and nephews in the Storm, Sherman, and Legg families. Bob is also survived by his faithful canine companion: Duke.
