Obituary for Olivia Rae Heffinger Day

Olivia Rae Heffinger Day, 21, died from injuries sustained in a tragic car accident involving a drunk driver on February 18, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas.

Beloved daughter of Greg and Wendy (Silfee) Heffinger of Spring Brook Twp. Olivia was an employee at Ulta in Dickson City. She studied business and marketing at Clarks Summit University and Eastern University.

Though light-hearted and petite, Olivia was fierce about the people and things she loved. She was a deeply loyal and loving family member and friend. Known for her smile and her "sass," Olivia possessed a sense of humor and the ability to make others laugh. She will also be remembered for her sweet singing voice and love of make up and all things "beauty."

A formidable athlete, Olivia began playing softball at the age of 4 and continued to compete in recreation league, high school and collegiate softball. Olivia earned a spot on the Big League Softball World Series with her sister in 2012. Olivia was passionate about the game she loved.

While alive, Olivia brought joy to those she met. In death, she gave joy to those she never met through organ donation.

Olivia is survived by her wife Maria Day, they were friends since childhood and were looking forward to their future, beginning a life together in Maryland; her sister: Emily; brother-in-law: Josh, niece Raelynn and nephews: Judah and Hank; grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and many in-laws.

Olivia will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 10 at 10:00 am at Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, LLC 3 First St in Spring Brook Twp with Rev. Stephen Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Park in Elmhurst Twp.

Viewing will be on Friday, March 9 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
