Obituary for Mary Ann Ludwig

Mary Ann Ludwig, of Tunkhannock, was welcomed into Heaven on March 5, 2018; her 63rd birthday, after a hard fought battle with melanoma. Her husband is Norman S. Ludwig, III and the couple celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary on September 10.

Born in Abington Twp, Montgomery County, she was the daughter of the late Dominick and Elvera DeMarco. Mary Ann graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School in Wyncote and worked in the human resources department of Putnam Publishing.

Mary Ann enjoyed traveling with her husband, reading, cooking and baking. She was proud of her "Italian" cooking and known for her delicious holiday truffles that she made with her son, her fabulous meatballs, whose recipe she only shared when cooking with her daughter in law, and the countless of unique treats she made for her husband, her grand twins and her dog. Most importantly, Mary Ann cherished the time she spent with her family, especially time “doting” over her grand-twins: Roman & Nadia. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Mary Ann faced her five month battle with melanoma courageously, determined to defy the odds and beat the disease. During moments when she wanted to cry; she smiled, made a joke and remained strong. Her husband was by her side every day and attended every doctor's appointment with her.

In addition to her husband Norman, she is survived by: her beloved son, Daniel Joseph Ludwig of Hawley, his wife Teri and their twins, Roman & Nadia. She was preceded in death by her brother: Joseph Calogero.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 11 at 2:00 pm at Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, LLC 3 First St. in Spring Brook Twp to be conducted by Pastor Eric Luczak. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can me made to Pete's Poker Run and Pig Roast; a charity Mary Ann attended every year, cooked an abundant amount of food for, and supported with all her heart.
