Bart T. McAndrew, 68, of Jefferson Twp., died unexpectedly Tuesday morning at Community Medical Center. His wife is the former Sandra Metro. The couple had been married 43 years. Born in Bethlehem, PA, he was the son of the late Bart T. and Regina Sheerer McAndrew. A graduate of Moosic High School, he also attended Lackawanna Junior College prior to entering the United States Air Force. Until retirement he was a sales representative for ABF Freight Lines. He was a member of St. Eulalia's Church, Roaring Brook Twp., where he sang in its founding choir. Bart was also a licensed private pilot and loved to fly. He enjoyed the outdoors and playing golf at the "Marjon Country Club". A patient, humble man, he cherished his family, especially his grandchildren. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Bart "Russ" McAndrew and his wife Katie, Avoca; Lt. Col. Matthew McAndrew, U.S. Air Force, recently deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan, and his wife Dina, Tampa, FL; grandchildren Luke, Emily, and Daniel, Tampa, FL; a sister, Jean Marie Carroll and her husband Michael, Avoca; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral InformationThe funeral will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 3 First Street, Spring Brook Twp., PA 18444, with Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Eulalia's Church, Blue Shutters Rd., Roaring Brook Twp., PA, 18444, to be celebrated by the Msgr. John Jordan, Pastor. Interment to follow in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow. Friends may call Sunday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
