Rollen J. Alles, a lifelong resident of Scranton , died Tuesday at home. His wife of 32 years, Ann Rought Alles, died September 21, 1975. Born October 27, 1925, in Scranton , he was the son of the late Elmer and Esther Miller Alles. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School and attended the University of Scranton . He served in the United States Navy, on the USS Borie, during World War II and worked as an assistant manager at A & P until his retirement. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church , now the St. John Neumann Parish. Surviving are his daughter, Joyce Medico Ruddy and husband, Paul; three granddaughters, Ann Medico and fiancé, Christopher Bane, Nanette Rinaldi and husband, Fred, and Michele Medico; three great grandsons Rocco, Donato, and Luca Rinaldi; a brother-in-law, John Reilly; several nieces and nephews and his dear friend, Louise Hoffner. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Matiskella and Eleanor Reilly; and a son-in-law, Rocco Medico. Funeral InformationThe Funeral Mass will be Friday at 12 noon in the Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1414 Elm Street, Scranton , Pa 18505 to be celebrated by the Rev. Michael Bryant, Pastor. The family will receive friends Friday from 11:00am to 11:45am in the church.
